Program areas at Neohumanist College of Asheville
Neohumanist Education: Upon successful completion of the 26 credit, 13 course, 2 year curriculum, students will graduate with a diploma in Neohumanist Education. The learning experiences include online instruction, fieldwork with qualified supervisors, and personal mentoring. In 2023, we graduated an 11 student cohort. 35 students applied to participate in the second cohort. The second group of student teachers began their training in the Neohumanist Teacher Preparation in September 2023. 30 students from 22 countries were enrolled from Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. This academic discipline is supported by seven faculty and 1 program coordinator.
Liberating Humanities and Arts: In 2023, this academic discipline offered 3 courses (1) Critical Thinking for Neohumanist Educators with 6 students enrolled (2) Neohumanism in Art, Literature and Culture with 4 students enrolled and (3) Writing our Spiritual Lives with 13 students enrolled. In September of 2023, we published a book titled Shiva, The Father of Yoga.
Transformative Social Sciences: In 2023 16 students enrolled for the Leadership for Social Change - Teams course. Yoga & Intuitional Sciences: In 2023, this academic discipline offered three courses open to the public:(1) Yoga Teacher Training with 7 students enrolling to earn their Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher certification (2) Teaching Ashtanga Yoga to 3-11 Year Olds with 19 students enrolled and (3) Philosophy of Yoga with 5 students enrolled.
