Program areas at Nevada Opera Association
Educational outreach programs included a youth program and show chorus. An outside production at brooklyn college was supported by nvo with costumes and a company choir member who interned for the show. Nvo hosted a free, all day event called Nevada Opera renaissance faire at wingfield park. The event featured madrigals, broadway selections, Opera youth, harpists, the master chorale and a two hour performance by the Nevada Opera chorus. There were various booths with food from local vendors, unique crafts, game and demonstrations.
Community exposure to Opera was provided by the nvo chorus members who created an ensemble, p'opera, and presented fun filled evening of songs from musical theater, light Opera and grand Opera at local restaurants and special events. P'opera performed for the reno tahoe winter games coalition for the olympic curling Association.
