Program areas at Nevada Succeeds
Educating elected officials and community members about what policies and types of policies consistenly produce high student achievement internationally and on the pisa exam.develop policy recommendations based on what oecd recommends for high performing school systems. Eight of Nevada Succeeds policy recommendations were advanced in the 2018 Nevada legislative interim committee, resulting in two bill draft requests.holding events so elected/civic leaders & education community can listen to world-class education experts on the issues impacting the teaching profession and individual classroom experience.
Continuing ongoing work of supporting the development of career matrices/ladders & encourage further refining/improvement of professional growth plans by facilitating discussions among/with teachers, administrators & education support professionals; sharing research and best practices from other fields professionalization efforts; providing a platform for organic dialogue about needs in the professioncontinue bringing unions, state legislators, school districts, universities & other education professionals together to design a career matrix system of teaching standards & expectations supported by robust professional growth opportunities.
