Program areas at New Earth Recovery
Living in Our Homes - Our committed staff, loving and safe environment, structured program, and emphasis on healing provide the kind of environment that fosters change. Graduates have been reunited with children, freed from court involvement, returned to school, found employment, completed the 12 steps, and mended relationships with family. At our entry-level homes we encourage a nine month stay. The Trust and Willow House offer long-term community living to men and women in stable recovery. During 2023, 40 residents reported starting or deepening their faith; 32 restored relationships with family members; 23 found employment or started college; 8 regained their driver's licenses; 5 who had unresolved court cases became free from criminal justice system involvement; 15 moved into our graduate homes; and 4 regained custody of their childrenAdditionally in July 2023, we were able to purchase Willow House, our women's graduate home with a generous grant from the Murdock Charitable Trust and other caring donors. Along with the purchase we were able to upgrade the home's heating/cooling system and install a solar array which will lead to significant financial savings for many years to come. We also installed a solar array at Faith House, our entry level women's home with the assistance of matching funds from the Solar Moonshot program.
Therapeutic Gardening - The New Earth Recovery Garden is a place of community, laughter, connection, and healing for our bodies, minds, and spirits. Residents participate in seasonal gardening activities depending on their phase and current hours of employment
The Genesis Process - At New Earth Recovery we offer The Genesis Process, a faith-based relapse prevention process for finding healing from the root wounds and traumas that contributed to addictive and destructive patterns. At the heart of Genesis is the question, "Why do I do the very thing I don't want to do?"Our residents say that they've never seen anything quite like Genesis--a group and individual journey that sheds light on our "stuck" patterns, helps us move toward our fears, connects us with God and others, and offers lasting change.During 2023, 25 residents completed the Genesis relapse prevention program
Recovery Cafe Skagit - Thanks to funding from Skagit County Public Health and strong partnership with other community organizations, we launched Recovery Cafe Skagit in March 2023. The Cafe is part of a growing network of organizations that provide safety, connection, and purpose to people in recovery and those willing to test the waters of a recovery lifestyle. The Cafe provides a place where unhoused and others contemplating life change can develop meaningful relationships and seek a sense of purpose.
