Program areas at New Hampshire Optometric Association
The nhoa offers continuing education (ce) which is high-quality, interesting and useful to the participants in their pursuit of providing the highest level of care to their patients. The ce provided by the nhoa is planned and coordinated on an annual basis. It is nhoa policy that ce programs meet or exceed all state of New Hampshire requirements for the total number of category one hours, for specific subject content (e.g. The number of glaucoma-specific hours) and for transcript-quality requirements for New Hampshire licensure. Within these parameters, a portion of the annual ce program may be internet-based. Industry partnership with the nhoa in the provision of ce is a very high priority. It serves not only to provide significant financial support, but also to improve the educational quality of the ce experience. To this end, every effort is made to obtain industry participation for all our ce programs. This includes, but is not limited to, financial support, participation as exhibitor, and advising those who are planning the meeting on ways to improve the program.
Nhoa seeks to foster public awareness of optometry as a primary health-care profession, and to act as an advocate for Optometric vision care in the political and regulatory processes.
Nhoa influences the future of eye care in New Hampshire by ensuring the welfare of the public and promoting the profession of optometry.
