New Horizon Emmaus Community

New Horizon Emmaus Community is a non-profit organization that is mainly responsible for organizing and controlling the "Walk to Emmaus" weekends. This "Walk to Emmaus" is a Christian retreat involving 30 to 40 participants and normally is a 3-day event.The Amherst Christian Retreat Center ("The Ark") is located in Amherst, Texas. The facility is owned by the New Horizon Emmaus Community and operated as a not-for-profit business.The Ark hosted approximately 28 events during 2022,accommodating approximately 1423 people.These events are led by different Christian Organizations from throughout West Texas and New Mexico and most are nondenominational. New Horizon Emmaus Community lead 6 of these weekend retreats that would have had approximately 240 participants.Participants come for these weekends, spend the night, have meals, Bible studies, fellowship, worship GOD, sing and hear motivational talks. During 2022 there were approximately 1423 participants.
