Program areas at New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence

This state funding comes through the New Jersey department of children and families - division on women and supports njcedv's legal team's efforts To recruit and train attorneys To provide trauma-informed legal representation To survivors of Domestic Violence. During this grant period, njcedv recruited and trained 36 attorneys and provided 29 marginalized survivors of Domestic Violence with legal representation. In addition, the legal team offered training and technical assistance To legal advocates throughout the state.
Rape prevention and education (rpe) funding comes To njcedv through the New Jersey department of children and families and supports efforts To engage men and develop male leaders in gender-based Violence prevention throughout New Jersey. Njcedv provides training and ongoing technical assistance To male leaders, community partners and coaches. Njcedv developed community action groups led by community liaisons To provide gender-based Violence prevention education and activities and To facilitate listening sessions To engage the community and assess needs, particularly those representing communities that have been marginalized. This initiative reduces risk factors and increases protective factors that prevent Domestic and sexual Violence.
This funding comes To njcedv through the New Jersey office of the attorney general's division of criminal justice. The purpose of the covid-19 emergency housing for victims grant is To provide funding for relocating high-risk survivors whose victimization is directly related To, or heightened by, the pandemic. This funding supported njcedv's housing team's efforts To meet the needs of survivors, utilizing the Domestic Violence housing first model. Since the pandemic began, njcedv has connected hundreds of survivors with safe housing resources.
