A Horse Show Season to demonstrate the education and training of riders and horses in the sport of dressage was held between 14 May 2022 to 26 September 2022. Six USEF licensed competition days were held at HIPICO Santa Fe New Mexico. The competitions featured riders of all levels, horses of all levels. Amateur, professional and junior/young riders were entered. Awards and prizes for merit from 1st through 6th place were given. Riders also earned "qualifying" scores to proceed to championships for the United States Dressage Federation show system and other governing bodies in the discipline of the dressage sport. USEF licensed judges awarded scores and comments to the riders on their proficiency and areas of improvement needed, if any.
The Education Events Program was initiated in 2021 with the first event planned for April 2022 called Developing Collection. The total amount applied for was $3000.00. It was not received before the conclusion of 2021. It was received in 2022 and the event was successfully presented. This activity and expenses/revenue will be reported in 2022 990 filing.
The Grant and Scholarship Program was implemented in June 2021 with a grant from the Jack Kagan Foundation. The intention of this grant program is to promote the dressage education of young riders between the ages of 13 and 21. Young riders complete a formal grant application process and must meet established application criteria, as well as provide follow up reporting of their activities for which they received the grant. Grant amounts are in increments of $100. A new Adult Amateur Grant was initiated in 2022. This grant allows adult (non-professional) riders to apply for financial assistance to pursue education through classroom teaching, clinic teaching and remote learning sources. Repayment of grants is not required. It is planned to increase the Grant and Scholarship Program to $2000 for 2023
