Program areas at NMPCA
Medicaid and health insurance exchange outreach - enrollment program nmpca receives a contract from the state of New Mexico to subcontract with its members and other community-based non-profit organizations and counties to provide outreach and enrollment and re-enrollment of children in the medicaid program. Nmpca provides training and support to the subcontractors and aggregates and submits data to the state.
The health information technology program provides hosting and support for 501(c)3 Primary Care members who choose to share platforms and hosting facilities for their practice management systems and electronic health records to improve efficiency and quality of clinical services and operations. Eighteen organizations with approximately 100 clinical sites across New Mexico and California pool expertise and resources to achieve this integration with the funding assistance of a federal health center controlled network grant. Nmpca also provides direct it support to several of its members.
Nmpca provides training, technical assistance, and support services to its members in the areas of administration, governance, finance, clinical quality improvement, disease management, and risk management. Numerous trainings and conferences are held utilizing face to face and internet- based distance learning tools to assist members to improve the quality and effectiveness of Care delivery. Training and technical assistance are also delivered through one-on-one onsite assistance. Nmpca also supports numerous committees, workgroups, and taskforces, dedicated to networking and improving performance in billing, Medical, oral health, and behavioral health service delivery, human resources and information technology.
Non-grant services nmpca provides additional services to member and other organizations that are stand-alone fee for service arrangements. Health center controlled network nmpca operates the New Mexico health center controlled network (nmhccn). This is a health resources and services administration (hrsa) funded program composed of 16 health centers. Nmhccn services include data analytics, data management and reporting, training on electronic health record (ehr) configuration, user training and workflow development. Nmhccn members create and use data analytics tools to support patient engagement, exceed quality of Care standards, achieve meaningful use of health information technology, and support patient centered Medical home certification. Nmhccn services include design, planning, contracting, implementation and delivery of ehr systems and other applications from multiple vendors supporting different provider groups. Member organizations have local support for integrated health information technology (hit) solutions. Medical, behavioral health and dental treatment services are coordinated across platforms to support clinicians in providing patient centered Care. The trainers and analytics staff support Primary and preventive Medical Care, dental programs, substance use disorder treatment, pharmacy services and the many administrative compliance requirements of the members.
