New Mexico Wildlife Center works to connect people and wildlife for an abundant tomorrow. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the center presented 29 wildlife education programs to schools and other community groups, on and offsite, reaching a total audience of 737. The center's wildlife hospital received 948 injured and orphaned native wild animals representing 148 different species between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021. For the patients that survived their initial injuries or illnesses, they received specialized care from NMWC's trained staff.

Program areas at New Mexico Wildlife Center

Wildlife hospital during the time period from july 1, 2023 through june 30, 2024, New Mexico Wildlife Center admitted and cared for 1,011 injured and orphaned native wild animals representing 152 different species. For the patients that survived their critical first 24 hours in-care, their chances of being released back into the wild were above 60%.
Wildlife education during the period of july 1, 2023 through june 30, 2024 New Mexico Wildlife Center presented 45 Wildlife education programs to schools and other groups. These programs were conducted at New Mexico Wildlife Center or off-site at a variety of locations including schools, museums, libraries, and outdoor community events. Through these various programs nmwc reached an audience of proximately 4681 children and adults.
