Portfolio: nsno invests in Schools and partners with the Orleans parish school board to improve the quality of New Orleans' school options.nsno will broaden their effort to identify and support New school models that have promising approaches or fulfill specific citywide demands from students and families.nsno also recognizes that far too many children are being underserved in our Schools. Nsno will work with the district and other support organizations to ensure students are not required to remain in Schools that do not meet their needs.
Talent: nsno takes a leading role in coordinating solutions to the city's teacher recruitment and retention challenges.nsno was awarded a us department of education teacher incentive fund grant to promote student achievement and educator excellence in New Orleans public Schools. Teachers will be evaluated based on multiple observations and a measure of student achievement. These evaluations will allow school leaders and organization administrators to provide aligned support designed to enable teachers and leaders to become more effective educators. In addition, results from these evaluations will be used to determine educator eligibility for performance-based compensation systems. By championing professional (continued on sch. O) excellence with a focus on student achievement, nola tif will support the continued drive toward achieving excellent public Schools for every child in New Orleans. Nsno was also awarded a us department of education teacher and school leader incentrive grant to support partner Schools implementing, imporving, or expanding their overall human capital management system (hcms), including a performance-based compensation system (pbcs).
Curriculum: nsno helps Schools make the curricular and instructional shifts necessary to meet more rigorous academic standards.the nsno instructional quality initiative will ensure Schools: 1) move to adopt standards-aligned instructional materials and 2) receive intensive, tailored support to improve implementation of those materials, so that students are better prepared to master more rigorous standards.
Policy: nsno provides communications and policy support to maintain a reform-friendly environment.nsno will diligently monitor the policy landscape and collaborate with their partners to help opsb implement policies that allow great Schools to thrive.
