Earth, wind and fire: a sustainable approach for a resilient built environment - it has been 10 years since superstorm sandy yet the northeast is still in recovery mode. The New York region must respond proactively to enhance the built environment. As we look to the future, the aec industry is responsible for reimagining how to sustainably integrate resiliency for near- and long- term solutions. Opportunities range from carbon-reducing retrofits of individual buildings to strengthening our coastal infrastructure. Smps New York brings together industry leaders to discuss how the aec industry is uniquely positioned to play a pivotal role in designing a future that is both resilient in our changing climate and sustainable in reducing our carbon footprint. Economic forecast for developing communities in westchester and hudson valley - join smps-ny whv affiliate and our co-hosts, aia westchester + hudson valley, nspe putnam & westchester and associated general contractors (agc) nys for our annual economic development forum on november 10, 2021 this unique hybrid program will feature a client panel discussion and networking on a virtual platform, combined with an in-person happy hour following. We're giving you the best of both worlds this year, our focus is on contributing factors to the rapid growth of the westchester + hudson valley region, including community revitalization projects, infrastructure, biotech, housing, cannabis legalization, adaptive reuse and renewable energies. Our group of esteemed panel speakers, including michael e. reed of elite construction company of ny, michael oates of hv economic development corporation, andrew schriever, esq. And kristen motel of hv cannabis industry association, tim foley of nys builder's association, joanne gere of westchester biotech project and dan kent of the galvan foundation, will explore these elements, and how they will affect the region in the future
