Program areas at New York Road Runners
Tcs nyc marathon:in fiscal year 2023, nyrr held the 51st running of the New York city marathon at full capacity for the first time since november 2019. The New York city marathon was held on november 6, 2022, and was the largest marathon in the world with 47,841 Runners from over 130 countries, all 50 states, including d.c. and puerto rico, finishing the race.
Community impact services:in fiscal year 2023, nyrr served over 154,000 youth and adults through our nyrr community impact services (formerly referred to as ycs), consisting of the following (i) free programs and events for youth through our rising New York Road Runners programs serving youths across hundreds of schools and community centers throughout New York city and the nation fostering physical fitness and character development, (ii) free youth events, (iii) free weekly community open runs for participants of all ages that are held in fifteen parks across all five boroughs of New York city, (iv) free fitness classes and events for seniors through the striders program and (v) group training and coaching for adults at all levels.
Other community events:in fiscal year 2023, over 209,000 Runners participated in approximately 32 in-person nyrr events, including a wide variety of races of varying distances throughout the five boroughs of New York city and the surrounding region. Events included the five-borough series (bronx 10m, nyc half, brooklyn half, queens 10k, and staten island half), and 27 weekly and nyrr heritage races. Additionally, over 87,000 people participated in virtual races online from all around the world.
Other program services include membership support, run clubs gathering and other various programs.
