Program areas at Newport Public Library

Newport Public Library Purchases and maintains a varied collection of library materials for use by the general public. This includes books, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, music, videos and other materials of both educational and entertainment value. Items may be checked out by registered borrowers, or used within the library. Expenses include library collections expenses, plus the expenses of housing them (building and office expenses), which entails the entire expense for the library minus the two expense categories below. No revenue generated by this program
Newport Public Library provides reading-related programs for people of all ages. These include, but are not limited to preschool story times, summer reading clubs for children, teens, and adults and irregularly scheduled programs of education nature for children, teens and adults. No revenue generated by this program.
Newport Public Library maintains a number of internet connected computers for the use by the general public. These may be used by anyone who chooses to visit our location. In addition, Newport Public Library offers free wireless access to the internet by anyone who chooses to bring their own internet - accessible devices to our location. No revenue generated by this program.
