Overcoming barriers for ev infrastructure development: spring & fall 2023 - this research effort is being led by the institute for transportation studies at uc davis and will investigate best practices and policy prospects for overcoming barriers to the expansion of electric vehicle infrastructure in the state. The research effort will begin in fall 2022 with the development and distribution of a survey and a preliminary workshop. Work will continue into q1 and q2 2023, culminating in the release of a white paper and a related workshop in spring 2023. The research work will then continue with a final report including policy recommendations to be released in fall 2023. Reports will be available for download for free on Next Ten's website, tentatively in 2023.
Designing electricity rates for an equitable energy transition: second in a series of two reports, available for download for free on Next Ten's website, analyzes the current strategy of recovering a myriad of investor-owned utility fixed costs through electricity usage rates and finds the state must change as it looks to use more renewable electricity to power building and vehicles on the path to carbon neutrality.
Other program services: continue to market and maintain the nonpartisan free online California budget tool and California choices website, which provides free information on all the proposition information during the election year. Next Ten commissioned a report on greening the golden workforce: trends, projections, and strategies. This has been put on hold pending further data source availability.
