Program areas at Next Move Homeless

Permanent supportive housing the organization has four 4 permanent supportive housing programs omega, home at last, casa de esperanza and step up sacramento. Programs utilize the housing first model to assist chronically Homeless individuals and families gain and maintain permanent housing. Intensive case management is individualized for each client to help them reach their goals. Along with their regularly scheduled case management session clients can attend life skills and social skills workshops, have access to talk therapy with a consoler and can utilize jobs+ workforce development model to enhance their employment possibilities. Mental health services and alcohol or drug services are provided via trained professional. Clients have access to housing specialists who support them in finding and maintain housing of their own when graduating the program.
Francis house center francis house center, a program of the organization, has provided resources, coaching, advocacy, and services to those living in the sacramento region for over 45 years. It has worked hands-on with families and individuals regardless of their situation. Services include free and reduced-fee identification services, birth certificate vouchers, bus passes, hygiene products, clothing assistance, job development support, resource and health coaching, utilities assistance, rental assistance and housing counseling, legal and veteran services, and eye glass vouchers to individuals in need. Our job developer, with the funding of csbg family self sufficiency, works intensively with individuals who are preparing to enter the workforce and provides employment and clothing support. Francis house center also operates the family rescue program with csgb safety net funding. The program provides temporary shelter for parents with children or pregnant women. We are one of the few, if not the only, option for single father with children. Family rescue provides a package of a one week stay in a motel, transportation assistance, grocery assistance, job search assistance, and intensive case management to help families get off the street and on a path to self-reliance.
Emergency family shelter the organization operates 85-bed emergency shelter 365 days a year. The organization is one of only two agencies that operate shelters in sacramento county that has a primary focus on keeping families together, accepting two-parent families, single fathers, and males over the age of 14. We are the only shelter that offers private family rooms. Families have access to three healthy and satisfying meals per day, daycare programs, laundry facilities, an on-site playground, and a calendar of other trauma-reducing activities during their stay. All households are assigned a case manager who provides vital support and opportunities to address barriers to being housed. The organizations family shelter offers supportive services that assist in obtaining resources, take advantage of employment training and placement opportunities, develop a plan to secure housing and adopt positive lifestyle habits.
