Next Step Service Dogs empowers and employs Veterans, Active Military Personnel and First Responders who have PTSD, Tbi, and/or Military Sexual Trauma by providing expertly-trained Service Dogs that greatly improve their quality of life, independence, and sense of safety. It has trained and certified 12 Service Dogs for military and first responders. Additionally, NSSD trained and certified 3 Facility Dogs (SD Border Patrol, SD Police Dept/Wellness, Salinas Fire Dept./Peer Support) which are utilized in canine-assisted therapy programs.
