Program areas at Nonprofit VOTE

Nonprofit VOTE helped nonprofits engage their communities in the voting process. We hosted 10 webinars in 2023 providing 2,500 nonprofit staff with topical voter engagement resources. We also provided custom support and training to organizations such as National Council of Nonprofits, CalNonprofits, Michigan Nonprofit Association, Andrew Goodman Foundation and others. Through our field program, we supported voter engagement efforts at 57 nonprofits across seven states, reaching nearly 87,000 voters. In late 2023, the Philanthropy for Voter Engagement toolkit launched following a joint campaign with the United Philanthropy Forum, featuring 13 case studies, common strategies, and best practices.
National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) is a civic holiday managed by Nonprofit VOTE. In 2023, we recruited and supported 100 major national partners and 3,400 community partners. Thanks to partner efforts, 130,000 new/updated registrations were generated on NVRD. Prior to the holiday, we provided online toolkits and legal guides to partners, hosted webinars that drew hundreds of attendees, and mailed thousands of partners organizing kits with free event posters and stickers. The event generated significant media coveage across print, TV, radio and social media. Work conducted post-event included data collection, reporting/evaluation, and initial planning for 2024 and beyond. With related overhead, total expenses amount to $732,136.
