Program areas at North Carolina Pottery Museum

Exhibitions - provided permanent exhibits of over 800 pieces of Pottery, artifacts and photographs tracing North Carolina's Pottery history from prehistoric native americans to the present. Also provided changing exhibits of historical and contemporary work.
Visitor center - provided information on the seagrove area and the entire state's Pottery communities regarding their wide-ranging diversity of styles, techniques and history through maps, directions and other resources.
Education - provided self-guided and guided tours, demonstrations and workshops promoting an awareness of North Carolina's rich Pottery making traditions, past and present. In addition provided the folklife traditional arts in schools program which supports two sessions of 5th grade afterschool Pottery workshops teaching the basics of traditional wheel turning, hand building and glazing along with the history of the area. Also, planned, hosted, and implemented an educational symposium (the nc potters conference) for potters from nc and other states.
