Program areas at North Carolina Workforce Development Coalition
Promoting and helping employers develop recovery-friendly workplaces throughout western North Carolina. We presented at 7 different events and 14 businesses expressed interest in earning the rfw designation.
Collaborating with other recovery-friendly community organizations to promote the concept of recovery-friendly workplaces. We have contacted 30 such organizations to be included in the "recovery ecosystem".
Coaching workers and potential workers in recovery to move forward in productive employment. We are working with area agencies who place recovering workers in area workplaces and provide ongoing coaching support to these workers.
This federal grant is the primary funding mechanism for this foundation. Without it we would remain an inactive foundation and would not be advancing the cause of recovery-friendly workplaces.
Wci Inc. has a voluntary cooperative collaborative relationship with the foundation and has been contributing what the grant does not fund including staff support office space and supplies.
