North Chicago Public Education Foundation

Scholarships for graduates of North Chicago Community High School. The organization raises funds to provide scholarships that allow North Chicago high school graduates to attend the College of Lake County for two years at no cost. We cover the tuition costs not covered by other grants, reimburse students for the cost of books, and provide a stipend for living expenses. The revenue raised during the 2022-23 fiscal year allowed the organization to award 20 scholarships to 2023 high school graduates. Expenses for those students will be paid in future years. Expenses for the 2022-23 fiscal year were for students who received scholarships in 2021 and 2022.

Grants to North Chicago Community Unit School District 187. The organization has raised funds to cover the cost of new programs for the school district that serve the students of North Chicago. Funds raised during the 2022-23 fiscal year will be used to support home-based childcare programs in North Chicago and the district's Watershed program, both of which provide supports to children ages 0-5 with the goal of ensuring kindergarten-readiness.

Emergency fund. The organization has raised funds to provide assistance to families of North Chicago CUSD 187 students who are experiencing a financial crisis. Grants provided assistance to ten families.
