Program areas at North Dakota Dental Foundation
The North Dakota Dental Foundation exists to see a future where all oral health needs are met. We look to solve oral health problems with compassion and concern for human needs to prevent pain and suffering, particularly for patients that face barriers to care.
Bright Futures in Dentistry is a partnership with the ND Dental Association and the ND State College of Science. The program promotes dental assisting as a career option to high school students by connecting local dental practices with students through career fairs, scrubs camps, and speaking engagements. It also provides grant reimbursement to clinics and individuals to encourage chairside trained dental assistants to become DANB certified to become licensed as qualified or registered in the state of North Dakota. In 2022, seventeen individuals received reimbursement for taking the DANB exam.
1 Million Brushes: North Dakota Dental Foundations mission is to give out 1 million toothbrushes to kids in need by 2030. Tooth decay is the #1 chronic disease in children. When left untreated, it can further problems with eating, speaking, playing and even learning. Since its start in 2017, more than 230,000 toothbrushes and thousands of dental kits have saved the smiles of children in need from ND.
