Program areas at North Main Street Fund
In 2023, somos votantes education Fund (svef) ran a robust civic engagement program for key segments of our latino community. Our youth outreach included community engagement events such as a youth summit, a young latinos mentorship program called somos lideres, and civic engagement classes in high schools. Our 2023 programs also included latina-specific engagement and latino small business recruitment.

In 2023, the Texas signal media foundation (tsmf) relaunched as a nonprofit newsroom dedicated to producing public interest reporting by and for the new Texas majority. Guided by our mission, we are focusing on several reporting areas including reproductive rights, the environment, education, and politics. Our website and newsletter are free for all, and we are particularly aiming to reach young texans, communities of color, women and spanish-speaking communities.
In 2023, state democracy defenders Fund (sddf) worked to thwart and defeat the election denial movement which seeks to systematically undermine our election system, prevent free and fair elections and interfere with the democratically selected winner taking office. We went on offense against election deniers, including through publicly supporting the criminal prosecutions. We also acted as the central hub for the collaboration and coordination of the national and state 501(c)(3) effort to combat election sabotage, focusing on key jurisdictions that are at risk. This work all contributed to safeguarding our democratic integrity, working across the pro-democracy ecosystem to align movement capacity.
