Program areas at Northern Nevada International Center
Professional and cultural exchanges: nnic implements a wide range of grant projects funded by the us department of state's bureau of educational and cultural affairs (eca) to advance us foreign policy efforts. Participants from over 100 countries visit Northern Nevada for short-term professional and cultural exchanges to meet americans, advance professional skills and foster positive relations through dialogue and understanding.
Language bank and community connections: nnic's language bank offers interpretation and translation services in over 200 languages in person, via video and/or over the phone. Nnic trains aspiring interpreters and translators by offering workshops and classes.
Refugee resettlement: nnic resettles refugees, asylees, International victims of human trafficking and other eligible populations. Nnic provides wrap around services including welcome services, housing, employment, education, esl, health and mental services, mainly in partnership with many community stakeholders.
