Program areas at Northland Neighborhoods
Community services provide programs to service the needs of the community including neighborhood organizing & conservation, hoa support, neighborhood strategis planning, and crime watch training, nuisance codes education, as well as meetings that bring citizens, elected officials, government agencies, police officers, and area developers together to find solutions for the benefit of residents in the Northland. Nni also houses and partners with personnel from Kansas citys neighborhood preservation department. Nni also received funds from the cares act that were used to help the community during the covid-19 crisis.
Community planning consists of working with residents, civic leaders, developers, planners,and governmental staff to improve the major corridors within the Northland community. Nni gives attention and direction to the changing needs of neighborhood residents and to ways in which different planning policies, programs and activities contribute to resident well-being.
Housing programs consists of home repairs provided to owner occupied, low to moderate income households. Repairs provided are based on need, and repairs help to keep the home safe, reduce utility bills and to reduce the incidence of code violations.
