Northwest Grocery Association

The Association provides education to its members by way of conference calls, webinars, email, and legislative update reports. A tri legislative report is prepared annually and e-mailed to members. On occasion we hold seminars to give in-depth explanation of legislative issues affecting the industry in their states and cities.

Promote retailer participation in new bottle drop recycling centers and educate the public about the new recycling centers. Association representatives continue to maintain in store kiosks, promote the bottle drop plus program, and to provide education and answer questions. The program is still in expansion.

Representation before state legislatures and city officials related to legislative issues affecting the indusry in the pacific Northwest. Examples of legislation include minimum wage and sales tax repeal in Idaho, labor issues, recycling issues and retail pharmacy contraceptive services in Washington, and minimum wage, predictive scheduling, equal pay, and continued bottle bill preparation in Oregon.
