Program areas at Norwalk River Watershed Association
Education and Outreach: In 2023, NRWA conducted 18 guided nature walks, 6 tabling events, 6 educational talks engaging, 10 volunteer riverbank restoration projects for adults and 10 student focused volunteeer restoration projects. Through these events, NRWA reached over 1000 community members and volunteers.
River Cleanups: Two cleanups engaged 85 volunteers and removed 750 pounds of trash from the river.
Habitat Restoration: 10 acres restored at 7 management sites, invasive plants removed and areas re-planted with native plantings including 150 trees and shrubs, 1700 wildflowers and grasses and 3 pounds of wildflower seeds.
