Program areas at Nourishing Bethesda
Food Distribution: In 2023 NB distributed more than 38,000 pounds of food to more than 1,400 households (representing 4,200 individuals) each month. Twice a month, each household received on average 14.5 pounds of produce, 9.4 pounds of shelf-stable food, and 1.8 pounds of protein. One third of those served were children and a quarter were seniors. In addition to fulfilling weekly food pick up appointments for families, we also served community low-income senior housing, a mens homeless shelter, and permanent transitional housing. We served multiple communities in Montgomery County, Maryland. More than 600 volunteers gave more than 21,000 hours in 2023.
