Program areas at NSC

MEDICATION ACCESS: NSC procures discounted or donated medication from our pharmaceutical and nonprofit partners. We then fill and ship all prescriptions directly to one of our 16 safety-net clinic partners where patients can pick them up.EDUCATE BEFORE YOU MEDICATE: NSC partners with clinics, faith-based nonprofits, and other local groups to host health literacy workshops across Northern Virginia. Our culturally competent programs are developed by NSCs talented, multilingual team. We provide health education to children, seniors, and adults.PROVIDING ACCESS TO VACCINATIONS FOR EVERYONE(PAVE): NSC partners with Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) and the George Mason Universitys MAP Clinic to provide free vaccines and health consultations to children from low-income immigrant families. This program helps children meet the school-based entry requirements for K-12 students from immigrant families. MEDICATION SOS: This program helps medical providers navigate prescription coverage for Medicaid and find alternative medications of a medication is not covered.NOVA SCRIPTS Compass: This free tool connects those in need to community resources close to their home or work location.MEDHELP: This program helps individuals identify safe, affordable options to get their medications.SAFETY NET HEALTH EQUITY FELLOWSHIP: The Fellowship provides an unparalleled opportunity for pharmacists to gain hands-on experience working with diverse uninsured patient populations, delivering culturally competent care, and advocating for increasing equitable access to care.PHARMACIST COMMUNITY AMBASSADOR PROGRAM: Through this program, NSC trains pharmacists to serve as culturally competent community health educators on topics including influenza, lupus, and diabetes treatment and prevention. This program reaches pharmacists nationwide.
