Program areas at NU-HOPE Elder Care Services
Home and community-based Services to the elderly: case management, case aide, companionship, congregate meals, emergency alert response, personal Care, nutrition education, nutrition counseling, outreach, transportation, energy assistance, health support, housing improvement, medical supplies, material aid and pest control.
Respite: in-home respite Care is the provision of relief or rest for a primary caregiver from the constant, continued supervision and Care of a functionally impaired senior by providing Care for the person in the home for a specified period of time. During 2023, 19,476 hours of respite were provided.
Home delivered meals: provides nutritionally-sound meals for eligible persons. Emphasis is placed on serving elders who are at greatest economic and social need, low-income minorities and those who are at nutritional risk. During 2023, a total of 75,658 frozen home delivered meals were provided.
Homemaker: homemaker service is defined as the accomplishment of specific home management duties. Duties include, but not limited to, housekeeping, laundry, cleaning refrigerators, shopping assistance and routine household activities. During 2023, a total of 7,794 hours of service were provided.
