In july 2021, Oakland Mercy Hospital ceased operations. The organization is currently winding down activity. Prior to ceasing operations, Oakland Mercy Hospital, provided quality health care to the residents of the burt county area and surrounding communities since 1950. The Hospital provided a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services. Core services included acute care, outpatient surgery, 24-hour emergency services, rehabilitation and occupational medicine. Oakland Mercy Hospital had 18 acute care beds and also operated two affiliated Medical clinics in Oakland and lyons, Nebraska. Both clinics operate as rural health clinics and now operate under baum harmon Mercy Hospital, a related tax-exempt organization.
