Program areas at Ocala Civic Theatre
Front of house (season tickets, box office and concessions) - Ocala Civic Theatre is a professionally produced volunteer-driven community organization with a 73-year history of uplifting, inspiring, and entertaining our communtiy by providing quality theatrical experiences and performing arts education. During the 2023-2024 season, the Theatre produced 5 mainstage productions, 2 studio productions, 3 youth producutions and numerous events with a combined total of nearly 200 performances for nearly 30,000 attendees.
Support and collaboration - as a community partner, we strive to lend support to other organizations by making space available at affordable prices as well as making our professional staff available to support the events presented in our space by others within our community. These include churches, schools, and fellow arts organizations. Additionally, we encourage and support collaborative work among our peer organizations. These collaborative projects include education, outreach and performance opportunities. Through collaborative work, we grow one another's support base and increase awareness and appreciation for the arts as cultural and educational assets as well as economic drivers for our community and the region.
Education & enrichment - the education and enrichment department provides qualified instruction in the performing arts and Theatre crafts as well as creating opportunities for our donors, patrons, and fellow businesses and organizations to tour our facilities, visit rehearsals and observe classes in order to deepen our relationships and foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for Theatre in our community. We provice support for our seniors through our golden troupers and act iv organizations, who also assist in providing and administering scholarships for local Theatre, music and art students, second stage productions and various youth programs. Our classes culminate in performance opportunities and provide training for nearly a thousand students each year.
