Program areas at Ogallala Commons

Workforce & leadership development: in 2022, Ogallala Commons, Inc., (oci) continued our community internship & apprenticeship program by providing work experience, skill development and local career exploration for interns and apprentices, consisting of high school students, college and older adults accross the service territory. Additionally, oci added an entrepreneurship certificate alongside the workforce & leadership certificate in order to increase place-based learning and workforce.
Youth engagement program: oci continued its work in youth engagement programs offering place based education in career path development. Oci also conducted commonwealth academies, youth entrepeneur fairs and a virtual e-club to foster continued education for high school entrepreneurs.
Rebuilding local food systems: oci maintained its programming hosting local food summits throughout the territory, and expanded its technical assistance and education support for producers.
