The mission of the Ohio Optometric Association is to promote high quality optometric care for the residents of Ohio, preserve and advance the profession of optometry, serve as an advocate for patients and members, and serve as the principal resource for public health information regarding the eyes and vision. Real eyes save our sight grant, education of Ohio school students, approximately 2,565,885 residents reached. East west eye conference, continuing education of optometrists, 168 classes offered, 90 exhibitors, approximately 1,900 attendees.

Program areas at OOA

Realeyes save our sight grant - education of Ohio school students. Over 1.7 million Ohio residents reached through presentations, nurse materials, health fairs and conferences. Approximately 71,000 Ohio students reached in classroom presentations and 93,000 reached with solar eclipse materials for a total of 163,898 students during the 2023- 2024 grant cycle.
Member services
Eastwest eye conferences - continuing education of optometrists and their staff. Between 2 separate conferences, cumulatively 119 hours offered, 104 exhibitors, and 1,374 attendees.
