Program areas at ORA

Member services:ora provides roi to its members through cost saving benefits such as safety training, consultation on nearly all aspects of a hospitality business and networking with fellow operators. Webinars and in person events provide additional opportunities for businesses to improve their operations. Ora also educates its members on the bureaucratic process so they can better understand how government affects their business and how to advocate for their interests.
Member advocacy: the ora constantly advocates for common sense, pro-economic growth policies at all levels of government to ensure that the business climate in Ohio continues to allow our members to thrive, employing hundreds of thousands of ohioans as Ohio's 2nd largest private sector employer and contributing to the vibrancy of communities large and small throughout Ohio. In 2022 our advocacy efforts continued to include post covid recovery efforts. We also continue to advocate for workforce development policies that expand opportunity in Ohio, including for struggling or disadvantaged populations, and we continuously stress our industry's focus on food safety and workforce safety to our members and to elected officials and regulatory bodies. Additionally, we are a strong voice for the hospitality industry's contributions to Ohio's economic development. Thriving hospitality businesses are increasingly centrally important to vibrant communities. We emphasize this regularly to other Ohio leaders. This fact has never been more true than it is today; as Ohio attracts more and more employers to our state, it is imperative that every community has vibrant, thriving Restaurant, foodservice and hospitality businesses that will attract the employees needed for what comes next here in Ohio.
Member marketing & communications:the marketing & communications department rebuilt the Association website, adding martech to reflect the changing environment within the industry in re: to industry news and association-provided events, education, programs, products & services and industry advocacy efforts to best meet the needs of members and industry professionals. Ora added three monthly e-newsletters to members: newsbites, advocacy updates & upcoming events. Business impact e-news continued monthly to members and public who sign up to receive. Pr & media relations remained high priorities to keep members & public abreast of breaking news & to keep members aware of Association events, programs, products & services to assist with successful member business operations and to keep stakeholders and interested parties well informed & engaged.
To represent, educate, assist and promote members, ultimately helping them sustain and grow their businesses.
