Community Medical Assistance is available to residents of Okmulgee County. This is an emergency medical assistance we provide as funds are available. This service may be provided to a personal resident in a financial need, or a stray animal who was hit by a car and the person who found them can't provide the care or financial assistances. In 2023, OCHS spent $477.80 on Community Medical Assitance.
Trap-N-Release Program (TNR) is for feral/stray cats in Okmulgee County as funds are available. This program is geared to slow down the overpopulation of stray cats in our community. Cats who land in our Vet's office for TNR are combo tested, vaccinated, and ear clipped in order to indicate to the neighborhood this animal has been serviced. In 2023, OCHS spent $214.42 on TNR services.
Low Cost Spay and Neuter Program is for anyone in Okmulgee County that has an income lower than $35,000 per year. They can get their pets spayed or neutered through the Okmulgee County Humane Society for $35 each. We pay the rest of the cost to our veterinarian. In 2023, we provided these services to pets at the cost of $460.00.
