Program areas at Ole School Scholarship Fund
This year, the Ole School Scholarship Fund awarded three (3) $1500.00 incoming Freshman scholarships and three (3) $1500.00 retention scholarships (upperclassmen) to African American students attending James Madison University.
Ole School Alumni Owusu-Ansah (JMU) Experiential Summer Scholarship (Ghana Summer Scholarship): Provided a $5,000 scholarship for [a] JMU student(s) for a summer trip to Ghana with other students (led by a JMU professor).
Sentara Healthcare Program: The Ole School Scholarship Fund (the Fund) - in partnership with Sentara Healthcare, began providing financial assistance (scholarships, tuition, stipends, books, miscellaneous fees, supplies/equipment) to and in support of under-served healthcare service industry students (and students in supporting majors) participating in the Ole School Scholarship Recruitment Program at James Madison University. This year, the Fund provided: (1) student stipends, including $25,250 in support of Sentara Healthcare's Summer Camp, other student stipends ($3950.00), scholarships ($2,000.00), tuition assistance ($5,550.00), and miscellaneous fees, and books ($5,550.00).
Other Financial Assistance to JMU students: Provided $3,500 as part of Ole School Scholarship Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program in partnership with JMU and ERP Corporation (and its affiliates). Provided a $2,500 student scholarship in partnership with Ernst & Young. Provided a $3,000 student scholarship for Experiential Learning in partnership with Freddie Mac.
