Program areas at Olympia Education Foundation
The "Principals' Emergency Checkbook Fund" was established at all of the schools in the Olympia School District to provide students with basic needs such as school supplies, food, clothing, medicine, etc. to remove barriers to succeeding in their education.
Mental Health Initiative program was established to provide support in the following areas: 1) training materials to OSD teachers and staff in the areas like suicide prevention, 2) online mental health training open to all OSD students, families and staff, and the greater Thurston County community, 3) providing funds to support projects addressing social and emotional learning and the mental and physical health of OSD students and 4)a Mental Health Resource Library for OSD staff, with grade-level resources for students as well as materials for staff.
Grants for: reading programs, school supplies, curriculum development, technical equipment, before and after school programs, homeless & low income student programs, STEM & robotics, and scholarships. The grants benefited students in multiple grade levels at all the schools within the district.
