Opin promotes the adoption of homeless animals and assists pets in need through medical treatment, training, and education. It addresses pet homelessness with a range of welfare services tailored to support pets in Stamford, CT. Program areas at Opin

Medical care/snip: routine medical treatment was provided to Opin foster pets as well as community pets whose owners were in financial crisis (known as the keep fido/fluffy at home program), and to those pets both in the community, and in Opin's foster program that were in need of extreme critical vet care (known as the ollie fund and we love lucy program). The snip program provided vaccinations, micro-chipping and spaying/neutering for pets from low income homes.
Foster/adoption: foster programs help to save lives by providing temporary solace for a family pet, or by helping transition a homeless pet from the shelter to a home environment. These foster programs help to increase the adoptability of a pet. Opin promotes adoption of homeless animals. Opin also made a donations of $8,000 to spca westchester, Inc. to assist in the yorktown,ny cat hoarding rescue and $3,000 to maui humane society to assist with the rescue/relocation/care of pets displaced by the wildfires.
Training: community outreach program offerred 50 weeks per year and is attended by an average of 15-20 and upwards of 25 dogs per week. These dog training classes are attended by dogs adopted from Opin, its foster dogs and dogs owned by the general public. Classes are open to every dog owner.
