OAcademy is an online music conservatory that reinvents music education for the real world, bridging the gap between location and opportunity. Combining a global faculty with in-person residencies, OAcademy empowers diverse talents to become job-winning artists. A rigorously selected cohort of 80 rising musicians from across the globe participates in the annual 6-month journey that focuses on the cultivation of essential skills required by professional musicians in an era when music-making formats and structures are rapidly shifting. Using technology to create powerful learning opportunities and career-advancing networks for those with limited resources, OAcademy is working to level the global music playing field by breaking down age-old centers of access. Co-curating institutional partners include The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Canada's National Arts Centre, and Bard College Conservatory.Beyond its core orchestra academy, OAcademy houses three branded off-shoot activities: the Carlos Miguel Prieto Conducting Fellowship, Gabriela Ortiz Composing Studio, and Gabriela Montero Piano Lab. The Carlos Miguel Prieto Fellowship provides rising conductors with formative tools including comprehensive technique, musicianship, and leadership training needed to access world-class career opportunities. The Gabriela Ortiz Composing Studio provides a lab for emerging composers to take the next step in a global career. The Gabriela Montero Piano Lab provides immersive training to rising pianists where they learn from one of the world's top leading soloists and composers. The Organization also oversees Sinfnica Azteca, a collaborative project with Fundacin Azteca in Mexico that creates a leading and innovative platform in music education that connects the worlds of education and international performance.
The newly launched Montero at Prager concert series brings world-class musicians, mentorship, and community engagement to Maryland's Eastern Shore. From the intimate setting of the Prager Family Center for the Arts in the heart of downtown Easton, audiences enjoy up-close performances by some of the most acclaimed artists of our time.
The Global Leaders Institute equips arts professionals to grow creative enterprises that impact communities through an innovative and newly launched MBA in Arts Innovation. Co-curated by 9 top universities and think tanks including Harvard, Georgetown, Stanford, Duke, University of Chicago, and more, the GLI's MBA journey is guided by a world-class faculty that includes Nobel laureates, Grammy winners, Polar Prize awardees, TED presenters, and an institutional network of dynamic field partners spanning 40+ nations.
