The Alliance strengthens Oregon's intellectual and economic resources by representing and serving Oregon's regionally accredited, nonprofit, private, Independent Colleges and Universities. The primary functions of the Alliance are to: lead advocacy related to nonprofit, Independent higher education on matters related to public interest and public policy; support and expand strategic partnerships with businesses, foundations, and public sector agencies and institutions; provide and create structures to encourage inter-institutional collaboration; coordinate services to member institutions to achieve greater efficiencies and economies of scale; keep educational quality high and minimize operating costs at our member institutions; continued on schedule o. Generate restricted gift and enterprise income to support mission fulfillment; work collaboratively with our community of stakeholders and partners to serve the greater public good; and seek programs and strategic investments that increase postsecondary student access and success, as well as forge connections, pathways, and partnerships with business and industry that enhance student transitions from education to career.
