Oregon First Home Coalition

First home coalition was organized and created in order to promote and support the passing of two bills for the house and senate. These bills, hb 2996 and sb 849, were written and proposed by the related organization, Oregon association of realtors, and provide first time homebuyers the opportunity to save for their first down payment in a special account. Money saved in one of these accounts would not count as Oregon state income. Neither bill was successful in the 2017 session, however, the concept was reintroduced in the 2018 session as hb 4007 and is expected to be signed by the governor on may 21st 2018.
