Education and professional development - our member's professional success is one of the core essentials of our organization's mission and on that direction, our Association provides a year- round diversity of educational programs about risk management (identify and manage the risks associated with doing business), fair housing (a guide to ensuring that brokerages, agents, and clients adhere year- round to the laws of fair housing, protecting consumers of unlawful practice), Realtor safety tips for ensuring safety for our members and their clients, designation programs (to increase the skills, productivity, and knowledge of our Realtor members), and licensing and ceu's (florida's licensing requirements for real estate).
Member services - serving approximately 21,000 Realtor members, our Association strives to be the collective local force influencing and shaping the real estate industry. It seeks to be the leading advocate of the right to own, use, and transfer real property; the acknowledged leader in developing standards for efficient, effective, and ethical real estate practices; and valued by highly skilled real estate professionals and viewed by them as crucial to their success. Our Association is working on behalf of the greater Orlando's property owners. The Association provides a facility for professional development, research and exchange of information among its members and to the public and government for the purpose of preserving the free enterprise system, and the right to own, use, and transfer real property.
The annual public awareness campaign serves to educate today's consumers about the vital role of a Realtor throughout the real estate transaction, as well as the many benefits of working with a Realtor throughout the process. At the same time, the campaign educates consumers about the real estate transaction, the many benefits of homeownership, and the local housing market. With low inventory and rising prices, buyers are encouraged to contact a Realtor to help them secure a home in today's competetive market, while sellers are encouraged to contact a realator to see if they may finally have the equity they need to make a lifestyle change. The public awareness campaign is funded by a 25 per member annual assessment that is collected with dues; new members are also assessed 25 with their initial dues payment. The communications committee is charged with developing the campaigns' messaging and media buys, which are then approved by the board of directors.
