Friends of the Falls is working to transform the Upper Lock at Owamniyomni (St. Anthony Falls) into a community gathering place, restoring access to the river in partnership with Dakota Tribal Leadership and The Native American Community. Its mission centers on creating a shared vision for the upper lock at Owamniyomni centered on Native American voices. To accomplish this program, Friends of the Falls is expanding and diversifying its board, including Native American representatives, and providing staff and board training on Native American culture and history.
