Owensboro Health Medical Group, Inc. ('ohmg') employs physicians who provide direct patient care in support of Owensboro Health, Inc. ('oh'), ohmg's sole corporate member and a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3). During the reporting period, ohmg hired approximately 63 physicians and advanced practice clinicians who provided care in over 36 specialties in more than 35 locations in western Kentucky and southern Indiana. Ohmg fulfills its charitable mission through patient access to its physicians, many of which are primary care providers. Cost of participating in government programs: ohmg is committed to serving all persons in need, regardless of race, creed, sex, nationality, religion, disability, age or ability to pay. To promote access to care, ohmg participates in the following public Health programs: medicaid, medicare, tricare and local Health departments. In general, payments from these programs frequently do not cover the costs ohmg incurs to serve program beneficiaries. Uncompensated care and financial assistance: ohmg provides Medical care without charge or at reduced cost to residents of the communities that it serves. Ohmg's financial assistance program was established to assist patients who do not qualify for Medical assistance programs, like medicaid, and whose annual incomes are at or below certain percentages of the federal poverty guidelines. Ohmg is committed to expanding its programs to improve access to Health care in the areas it serves, which include rural and economically depressed areas and areas that lack adequate numbers of primary care and specialty providers.
On behalf of Owensboro Health Inc (oh), Owensboro Health Medical Group, Inc. (ohmg) operates the healthpark, a 115,000 square foot, world class wellness facility offering programs that focuses on keeping people well and restoring Health to others. The healthpark is Kentucky's only certified center through the Medical fitness association with a membership of over 4,900. The facility houses a Medical based fitness center, with programs that providers can make referrals in the electronic Medical record (epic) for those needing increased physical activity (exercise is medicine and fall prevention), community education and screenings and meeting space for support groups. In addition, hospital services are integrated at this location (rent space), including outpatient physical therapy, diabetes education, outpatient nutrition counseling and employee assistance program counseling to offer additional resources that promote wellness body, mind and spirit.
