Program areas at Oz Museum - Columbian Theatre Foundation
Frank baum the author of the wizard of Oz was influenced by his visit to the 1983 Columbian exposition in chicago. The Oz Museum shows and educates visitors with exhibits of artifacts from the movie and memorabilia provided by local collectors. The Museum received over 36000 visitors.
The theater building is also used for community meetings and events by civic and private groups. Visitors tour the historical theater viewing the murals from the 1893 chicago exposition and displays of local art.
The theater program presented five adult productions, six youth productions, 2 concerts, 1 festival and numerous events. Approximately 200 cast and crew members and 5000 visitors participated.
