Program areas at Pacific Education Institute
Statewide program delivery: pei specializes in providing professional learning opportunities and consultation services for educators. Using the fieldstem model, we advance equitable civic and scientific literacy by empowering educators to teach real-world science outdoors. Our resources and tools include customizable, integrated science curriculum frameworks, performance tasks and storylines that are designed by Education experts and deeply rooted in national and state Education standards. From july 2022 to june 2023, pei provided 89 professional learning opportunities for 2,700 formal and non-formal educators.
Second accomplishment regional fieldstem and climate science program delivery: pei engaged a professional evaluator to provide a statewide assessment of our program work. The reports will inform our decision making and program improvements. Pei leads work focused on Washington's green economy specifically the agriculture, natural resources, and renewable energy sectors, to identify exemplars of articulated pathways between k-12, post-secondary and employers for green jobs. Pei's current projects provide additional program services related to outdoor learning, climate science literacy, educating for a green economy, career and technical natural resource Education and invasive species. Pei continues to be the state coordinator for, national environmental Education organizations project learning tree and project wild.
