Program areas at PGC
Social and immigration services. This program provides assistance to immigrants' transitional needs and other foreign-born/limited-english proficient populations facing social and legal immigration issues during the process of resettlement and building new lives in the united states. The provided assistance aims to reduce and/or address language and cultural barriers facing the mentioned populations. This includes activities designed for recently arrived immigrants/migrants that help them cope with acculturation problems through training and legal immigration services.
A community building program. Under this program, initiatives are undertaken for the betterment of the community by renewing resources and rebuilding through social and economic revitalization. This includes a program that encourages community empowerment through resident participation and provides collective resource sharing between different agencies that complement community building. There is also a program that provides affordable housing to low- and moderate-income individuals.
Economic development program. This program provides business development opportunities to pgc's clients so they can gain personal wellbeing and economic empowerment for themselves and their households. The ultimate goal is to achieve economic self-sufficiency for pgc's clients. Pgc offers business development opportunities through its restaurant incubation, culinary business incubation, and farm incubation. In this effort, pgc provides facilities, spaces, services, and land at low cost in addition to technical assistance in business development and management leveraged by pgc's long-term established partner agencies statewide and nationwide. Detailed services include business technical assistance, career development, job placement services, and traditional and non-traditional microlending.
