Program areas at Paiute Atv Trail Committee
Imaging and tourism grant - this is a grant in partnership with Utah state parks designed to give the Paiute Trail an image facelift, including a new logo, and better visuals on social media sites such as facebook, instagram, etc. It also involved developing some short videos that enhance the image of the Paiute and promote responsible Trail use. Getting out the message of who we are all about is important. We contracted with vistaworks and tourism development to make this happen. This grant wasn't finished, but we did spend a total of 11,480 towards this effort. As mentioned, we got a new logo and banner to help with all future marketing and correspondence efforts. This grant will be finished in 2024.
Trail use data - the Paiute Committee has, for many years, worked with and supported the forest service in counting and documenting the use that takes place on the Trail systems. We donated more than 100 hours of volunteer labor to this effort in 2023, at a value of 2,500, and a cash out lay of 900 for a total of 3,400. This data collection results in the motorized Trail use report which is put out annually by the forest service.
The helmet program - partnering with Utah state parks through a grant program, our Committee purchased and gave away 70 helmets to youth in need, spending 6,761. Our objective is to get every youth riding the Paiute and sister Trail systems into a helmet to help assure youth safety. We have been doing this program for the past 15 years.
Parker mountain grant - we secured a grant to sign the parker mountain. This is a long and on-going project that is now over 7 years in the making. Our motto is "all good things take time". While we won't finish this grant and the actual on the ground signing until 2024, we did spend 5,909 in purchase of signing material and equipment. We put a new sign at the max reid Trail head for a combined cost of material and volunteer labor of 375.
