Program areas at Pan Am Historical Foundation
The Foundation engages in digital preservation of historic motion pictures of the airline industry and makes these films available to others producing documentaries. In addition, the Foundation has embarked on a program of archival preservation. A collection of films has been acquired and the Foundation is engaging film archivists and researchers to identify those of historic significance with a goal of cataloging and transferring to high end digital videos.
The Foundation publishes a newsletter three to four times per year to inform the membership of Foundation projects such as the production of a documentary, annual events, the search for a permanent home for its accumulated memorabilia of value, preparation of a traveling museum exhibit, and additions to the content and capability of www.panam.org with its increasing presence on social media.
The Foundation established and continues to expand its website, www.panam.org, especially to include more social media presence. The website enables the Foundation to reach a far broader audience than current Foundation membership and promotes the historic legacy and heritage of the airline.
